CH4 Global – a climate innovation from WIN’s portfolio, recognized among the UN SDG Leaders

CH4 Global, part of the WIN portfolio, has been recognized as one of the UN SDG Leaders for its groundbreaking technology to reduce methane emissions from livestock. The company uses a red seaweed called Asparagopsis, which, when added to cattle feed, significantly reduces methane emissions—a greenhouse gas with over 80 times the warming potential of carbon dioxide.

A feature published by CNBC highlights how CH4 Global has developed an effective feed additive that farmers can adopt without changing their existing operations. Through its proprietary EcoPark system, the company cultivates seaweed sustainably and at a fraction of the traditional cost, with its first commercial site already operating in South Australia.

If adopted by just 10% of the world’s cattle, this technology could have a climate impact equivalent to removing 50 million fossil fuel-powered cars from the road—demonstrating the massive potential of CH4 Global’s solution.
